Chapter 314
Tyler was out of breath, his heavy breathing close to Olivia’s pale face. Olivia felt weak and dizzy, pain spreading through her body, unable to speak.
Just then, Ana and Maisy entered the room. They froze, shocked at the sight before them. Maisy gasped loudly, “Oh my God!”
Ana rushed forward, panic clear in her voice. “What happened here? How did she fall?”
The room quickly filled with anxious voices, their words bouncing off the bathroom walls.
Ignoring the commotion, Tyler gently lifted Olivia, carefully wrapping her in a blanket. He headed toward the door with purpose.
Maisy stepped forward, worry etched across her face. “No, Tyler. You need to put her down and check if the baby is alright!”
Tyler’s expression hardened. “Please step aside. I need to get her to the hospital immediately.”
Maisy hesitated, but Tyler’s tone left no room for argument. “Move, please.”
Ana quickly intervened, placing a hand on her mother’s arm to soothe her. “Mom, let him take Olivia to the hospital first. That’s the most important thing right now.”
Though Maisy remained worried, she stepped back as Tyler carried Olivia out of the room. He moved quickly down the stairs, determined to get help.
Upstairs, Maisy cried out, her voice trembling with fear. “How could she fall just while taking a shower? I hope she and the baby are going to be okay!”
Ana nodded, equally anxious.
Meanwhile, Naomi, who had been resting in her hospital room all day feeling uneasy, asked her nurse, Emma, to take her for a brief walk downstairs.
As they approached the emergency entrance, Emma said gently, “Ms. Naomi, maybe we should head back. The air here isn’t very clean, and it’s quite crowded. It’s not good for your health.”
Naomi, having been isolated in her room for so long, longed for some company and refused to return to the cold, empty space. Ignoring Emma’s advice, she kept walking.
Suddenly, a few cars screeched to a halt at the emergency entrance.
People rushed out of the first car, moving quickly past Naomi before she could get a clear look.
Emma hurriedly pulled Naomi aside. “Be careful, Ms. Naomi! Let’s move back!”
Just as she spoke, someone brushed past them. Both women stepped back quickly as the crowd pushed forward into the corridor.
Naomi squinted, catching a glimpse of a familiar figure. “Tyler?” she whispered, frowning.
They were at the country’s top hospital. Tyler was rushing Olivia into the emergency room using priority access, focused entirely on getting help. He hadn’t even noticed the near collision with Naomi and Emma.
Naomi stood frozen for a moment, stunned by what she’d just seen.
Emma asked gently, “Are you okay, Ms. Naomi? Did they bump into you?”
Naomi blinked and then realized, “That was Tyler, wasn’t it?”
Emma shook her head. “I didn’t see clearly, Ms. Naomi.”
