Chapter 315
Naomi stared at the car parked just outside the hospital entrance. Wasn’t that the Harris family’s car? A wave of confusion washed over her as she replayed the scene in her mind. Earlier, she thought she had seen Tyler carrying someone.
“Could it be Olivia?” she whispered to herself as she moved toward the hallway.
Emma hurried after her, concern clear in her voice. “Ms. Naomi, where are you going?!”
Naomi didn’t respond. She pushed through the crowd gathered near the temporary ward, her heart pounding with worry.
When she arrived, she saw Tyler carefully laying Olivia on a hospital bed. Doctors rushed in to attend to her injuries.
Naomi’s heart dropped as she took in the scene—Olivia was hurt. Panic surged, and she tried to enter the room, but a nurse quickly blocked her way.
“You can’t come in, Miss,” the nurse said firmly.
“That’s my sister in there!” Naomi protested desperately.
But the nurse was unyielding. “Please step back,” she said firmly, ushering Naomi away.
Feeling helpless, Naomi took a step back. Emma gently steadied her, afraid Naomi might lose her footing.
From the doorway, Naomi watched Tyler, who was completely focused on Olivia. He held her hand tightly and brushed his other hand softly over her forehead, worry etched across his face.
A doctor began examining Olivia, starting with the injuries from the fall. As he carefully checked her legs, Olivia suddenly cried out sharply.
“What’s wrong? Where does it hurt?” Tyler asked urgently, his voice filled with concern.
After a thorough examination, the doctor announced, “She’s sprained her foot.”
Tyler’s brow furrowed as he observed the doctor’s careful work. He continued holding Olivia’s hand, his worry deepening as he awaited further news.
When the exam was finished, Tyler asked, “Are you sure it’s only a sprain?”
Olivia trembled with pain. Tyler gently cupped her face to keep her steady, cautious not to worsen the injury at the back of her head.
The doctor nodded reassuringly. “It appears to be just a sprain. Her bones are intact.”
Tyler glanced at Olivia’s swollen right ankle, his expression growing serious.
Olivia winced as pain shot through her ankle. The doctor resumed the examination, and Olivia cried out softly again. “It hurts,” she whispered.
Tyler pulled her closer, cradling her head gently in his arms as he offered quiet comfort. The deep concern in his eyes was unmistakable.
From the doorway, Naomi felt a wave of weakness wash over her. She nearly lost her balance.
“Ms. Naomi?” Emma’s voice called out, steadying her.
At that moment, Tyler looked up and their eyes met across the room.
